Three days ago, announcing tax-free status for the movie, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit had said the film has “created history”.
Excise commissioner R Pillai said that the distributors today collected the orders for tax-free status for the film.
Expressing her pleasure over Slumdog Millionaire reaping a rich harvest at the Oscars, Dikshit had said, “This film has earned a special distinction by claiming eight Oscar awards in different categories and hence created history in the field of Indian cinema.”
