Small parties come together to contest polls

A group of small parties led by the Indian Justice Party on Tuesday formed a front to contest the upcoming municipal polls in Delhi alleging that Congress and BJP were giving tickets to “selfish” people who do not work for the welfare of the common man.

The parties which have come together under the banner of Joint Jan Morcha are Jan Chetna Manch, Delhi Vikas Sanstha, Lok Seva Dal (Delhi), Bharatiya Sampoorna Kranti Party and Jan Samanta Party besides Indian Justice Party.

“The new front promises to take up the cause of the poor, Dalits, minorities and other deprived sections of the society,” said Udit Raj, president, IJP.

Raj said they would soon nominate their candidates and ask for sewing machine as their symbol. “Our priority will be to improve conditions in hospitals and schools.

Now the poor, Dalits, tribals, minorities and women will not remain silent spectators to the deteriorating condition of Delhi,” he said.
