Some flights cancelled, but most take off on schedule

As flight operations in Kolkata and Mumbai were severely affected, flights to and from these metro cities were affected at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA).

More than 40 flights by private airlines to and from these cities remained cancelled.

Air India flights, however, continued with normal operations, except for three flights to Mumbai and one to Kolkata.

"Though most flights operated normally, there was a drop in number of passengers at the airport due to the 'bandh'," said an airport official, requesting anonymity.

“About 12 Jet, six Kingfisher, five IndiGo, two SpiceJet and five GoAir flights were cancelled,” the official said.
