Sonia, Advani attend ex-CJI JS Verma's funeral

Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and senior BJP leader LK Advani were among those who attended the cremation of former Chief Justice of India JS Verma at the Lodhi Road crematorium in Delhi on Tuesday. HT reports.

Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and senior BJP leader LK Advani were among those who attended the cremation of former Chief Justice of India JS Verma at the Lodhi Road crematorium in Delhi on Tuesday.

Justice Verma, 80, had died on Monday night at the Medanata Hospital, Gurgaon, where he was admitted last week.

Assisted by former Solicitor General Gopal Subramanium, Justice Verma's grandson lit his funeral pyre in presence of many top legal luminaries and political leaders.
