The juvenile was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board.

According to police officers, the incident took place around 10pm when the parents of the girl were not present at home. The victim and the juvenile had known each other for several years and were supposedly friends.

Police officers claimed that the incident came to light when the cousin of the victim reached her house and knocked and got no response. After several failed attempts, the cousin raised an alarm and notified her relatives.

“He suspected something wrong ran informed his relatives who then forced their way into the house,” said a police officer.

He claimed that the family apparently found the minor allegedly misbehaving with the victim.

A complaint was later filed and the minor apprehended.

A case has been registered under sections of Prevention of Child from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
