More than 200 students from 15 technical institutions will hit the streets of North Delhi for a 15-km cycle rally on Wednesday and hundreds will participate in a half marathon.

So, venturing outdoors in a four-wheeler on Sunday morning could turn out to be taxing for commuters.

S.N Shrivastava, joint commissioner of police (traffic) said: “I would like to advice people to enjoy their Sunday morning at home, instead of venturing outdoors. Though we will put adequate measures in place to facilitate smooth flow of traffic, there might be some problems nonetheless.”

The cycle rally will be flagged off from Rajghat at 8:30 am and will cover Ajmeri Gate, Paharganj, Ranj Jhansi Marg, Old Baraf Khana, Tees Hazari, ISBT, Mori Gate, G.P.O, and the Red Fort before culminating at Rajghat around 11:30 am.

Due to the half-marathon on the other hand, traffic at places like Kamal Ataturk Marg, Panchsheel Marg, Vinay Marg, Satya Marg, Africa Avenue Marg, Brig Hoshiyar Singh Marg, Aurobindo Marg, Lodhi Road, Prithviraj Road Q-Point, Mansingh Road, Akbar Road, Rajpath, Janpath, Windsor Place and Ashok Road is expected to be affected from 6 am to 11:30 am.

The run will be flagged-off from Nehru Park in Chanakyapuri. The participants will run till Windsor Place roundabout and then take the same route back.
