Team KBC and Amitabh Bachchan have finally handed over the Rs 5 crore jackpot money to fifth season winner Sushil Kumar.

Team KBC and Amitabh Bachchan have finally handed over the Rs 5 crore jackpot money to fifth season winner Sushil Kumar.

The winner met Bachchan and the reality show team at an award function in the capital where he was given the money.

The team as well as the 69-year-old actor were given the CNN-IBN Indian of the year award in the entertainment segment.

"KBC would never have been possible without its brilliant team. This season was really special with special contestants. Sushil Kumar has proved the show's tagline - 'Koi bhi insaan chota nahi hota'," Big B said, adding, "We have handed over the Rs 5 crore cheque today."

Sushil said he has received the cheque.

"Contestants on the show come with such fantastic stories from real India which probably none of us have ever seen. I feel guilty, they struggle for a single light bulb when we have hundreds of lights in our homes. That sentiment is just heart breaking," Bachchan said, adding working on the show is a tough task but "it's an opportunity for me to do good".

"When I came to television, people said it was a mistake but fortunately it has worked out very well."
