“Mere taunting for bringing insufficient dowry does not come within the purview of Dowry Act,” Metropolitan Magistrate Shuchi Laler said. The allegations against the father- and mother-in-law “are unworthy of credence,” she said.
The daughter-in-law had registered a police complaint in August, 2007, against her husband and his parents alleging dowry harassment.
