Both branches of Modern School (Barakhamba and Vasant Vihar), Delhi Public School in Noida and Gurgaon (Sector 45), DLF Public School, Sahibabad and Blue Bells Model School, Gurgaon, are among institutions that have decided to follow changed timings till they close for summer vacation.

While private schools in Noida have done this at the behest of the District Magistrate, which directed all schools to start closing as early as 10.30 am (for Classes I to VIII), those in the Capital and Gurgaon have made this decision on their own.

“We began starting school half an hour early and closing an hour earlier in the afternoon since last week,” said Goldy Malhotra, principal, Modern School, Barakhamba.

On Friday, the Capital recorded 39.2 degrees Celsius maximum and 26.5 degrees Celsius minimum temperatures — two and five degrees Celsius above normal, respectively.
