Thieves steal handbag of minister’s kin

The daughter of union power minister M Veerappa Moily became the latest victim of bag lifters active in the vicinity of prominent shrines in the Capital. Her handbag containing her BlackBerry mobile phone was stolen during her visit to Nizamuddin Dargah on Thursday morning.

The daughter of union power minister M Veerappa Moily became the latest victim of bag lifters active in the vicinity of prominent shrines in the Capital. Her handbag containing her BlackBerry mobile phone was stolen during her visit to Nizamuddin Dargah on Thursday morning.

Hamsa Moily went to visit the shrine. She had placed her handbag near her while offering prayers but some unidentified thieves managed to steal her bag. When Hamsa could not find her bag, she informed the police.

The police checked the entire area and questioned several people. However, they could not locate the bag and eventually registered a case of theft.
