Three arrested in UP for killing Delhi policeman

The Uttar Pradesh Police have arrested three persons in connection with the murder of a Delhi police assistant sub-inspector, who had gone to Bilahari village in Chitrakoot to work out a case of robbery.

The Uttar Pradesh Police have arrested three persons in connection with the murder of a Delhi police assistant sub-inspector, who had gone to Bilahari village in Chitrakoot to work out a case of robbery. ASI Jai Bhagwan Sharma and constable Gauri Shanker had gone to Chitrakoot, where near the Bilahari village the accused — Phoolchand Yadav and two others who share the name Ramesh — shot him dead on Thursday.

The police have seized the gun used in the crime and also recovered a country-made pistol from their possession, said Superintendent of police, Chitrakoot, KB Singh. One Premchand Yadav, a native of Bilahari, had escaped after robbing a trader of Rs 8 lakh in Begampur, Sector 22 of Rohini in Delhi. The Delhi police got information about the whereabout of Yadav and sent a team to arrest him, where Sharma was shot dead.
