"We had planned the mock drill deliberately on a Sunday as we did not want to put more people to trouble by imposing traffic restrictions", said JCP, Faridabad, Anil Kumar Rao.

He added that the rehearsal was successful. "We kept the rehearsal shorter after witnessing traffic chaos in Gurgaon and Delhi during the CWG lane trail runs,” Rao added.

As Faridabad witnessed heavy rains in the morning, it made the job of the traffic policemen easier since less number of vehicles were seen plying on the roads.

Commuters preferred to take NH-2 during the trial run.
