August has seen a total of 304.9 mm rain till now, 30% more than the normal for this month. The 300 mm mark has been crossed only two other times in the last 12 years — 455.1 mm in 2010 and 310.7 in 2008.

Overall, the city has seen 451.1 mm monsoon rain since July this year.

The Met office has predicted heavy rainfall for Wednesday and Thursday and in the coming week as well. The outlook for September includes normal rainfall.

On Tuesday, the city saw 36.2 mm of rainfall till the evening. The city had already received 43.1 mm of rain for a 24-hour period that ended on Tuesday morning.

The highest rainfall received in a single day so far is 54.4 mm, received on August 21. For harried Delhiites, the silver lining was the day temperature.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 31.8 degree Celsius, two degrees below normal. The minimum temperature was recorded as 25.3 degrees, one degree below normal.

The temperature on Wednesday is expected to be between 24 and 31 degree Celsius.
