Both the labourers - Shantanu and Ram Singh - suffered head injuries and are in a serious condition.

The incident took place at Quarter no. 492, home of Kehar Singh, 37-year-old air force (civilian) personnel, at 4.50pm.

According to Singh, who had shifted to this RK Puram quarter in September, this was a repeat disaster but in a bigger way. "On Wednesday, a portion of my bedroom roof collapsed and my son was injured. Today, around 2pm, two CPWD labourers came and started working on the kitchen ceiling. Around 4.50, we heard a loud noise as we were sitting in a neighbour's flat. We rushed there and saw that the two were trapped under the debris," he said.

The police rushed the two workers to a nearby hospital and have registered a case.
