Two killed in wall collapse in east Delhi

Two children were killed while a woman and her daughter critically injured after a portion of a wall of a building of flood control department collapsed and fell on them on the Delhi-UP border on Monday morning.

Sources said since the incident took place on Delhi-UP border, both Delhi police and UP police were engaged in jurisdictional issues for over an hour. It was only after the interference of senior Delhi police officers that the issue was resolved and a case was registered at the Gokalpuri police station of northeast district, source added.

Monika, 4, and her neighbour Munni, 5, both residents of Ganga Vihar slum cluster, lost their lives after being trapped under the debris of the collapsed wall. The injured have been identified as Sheela and her daughter Pooja. They are undergoing treatment at GTB hospital in Delhi.
