The alleged rapist, who deposed as a witness in the case, threatened the reporters present during the proceedings with grievous bodily harm.

The moment the proceedings were over and additional sessions judge Kaveri Baweja left the room for her chambers, the 32-year-old said reporting in his case was ‘biased’ against him and told journalists that he would thrash them.

He will be produced in court on Wednesday for further examination. Meanwhile, defence counsel Dharmender Mishra sought more time from the court to read the documents in the case as Yadav had only recently appointed him as his lawyer and he did not get enough time to prepare.

Special public prosecutor Atul Shrivastava opposed his plea and said that the defence was trying to delay the trial.

According to the police, Yadav allegedly raped the woman executive inside his cab on the night of December 5, 2014.

The court on January 13 framed charges of rape and causing grievous bodily harm and endangering the life of a woman, kidnapping a woman, criminal intimidation and voluntarily causing hurt against Yadav under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. The prosecution last week completed recording of evidence in a court here in just 17 days.
