The BJP-ruled MCD is trying to go to court to demand the right to develop unauthorised colonies, a right that currently is vested with the Delhi government.
Sources said BJP leaders were already in talks with lawyers and would probably file a case on Tuesday.
At present, the MCD looks after the sanitation of colonies, while the government oversees all other developmental work.
The BJP, which has been ruling the MCD from the past four years, has been raising the issue while demanding the right to build infrastructure in the colonies.
Yogender Chandolia, BJP leader and chairman of the MCD Standing Committee, said, “We are seeking legal help and will be filing a case soon.”
