The son of a legislator allegedly beat up the staff and fired inside a south Delhi bar on Wednesday — because his sister’s wallet could not be found though she reportedly left it behind the night before.
Police said Manisha Singh, (26), daughter of Bahujan Samaj Party MLA from Meerut, Chan-draveer Singh visited Mocha Bar in Nehru Place on Tuesday. She went back on Wednesday with her sister-in-law because she forgot her wallet. When the staff said they did not find it, Manisha left and came back with her brother Vivek Singh.
“Singh slapped the manager and fought with other staff members. Then he took out a gun and put it on the manager’s head, then fired in the air in a fit of rage,” said ACP Virendra Singh Chail. Vivek (29), a property dealer, fled the scene but Manisha was caught. He was arrested later and booked for attempt to murder.
Vivek’s father Chandraveer Singh said, “I am paying the price for being an MLA. Such incidents frequently take place. It is ridiculous that my daughter and daughter-in-law have been projected as wanted.”
