Sewage lines in the Inner Circle as well as the Outer Circle start back flowing within minutes of rainfall.

On Thursday, the walkways in B, C and E blocks were flooded with water 10 minutes after it started to rain.

The sewerage line in the Inner Circle has already been changed under the restoration work project.

"The sewer line outside my shop starts to overflow as soon as it rains. The customers are aggrieved. No one likes to get their shoes wet and dirty," said Mohan Aggarwal, owner Mohnlal & Sons.

A manhole outside Regal Theatre was also overflowing on Thursday.

"In the outer circle the sewers get choked because of illegal connections in the area. This problem will be solved once new lines are laid after the Commonwealth games. The problem in the Inner Circle is not very serious," said Anand Tiwari, spokesperson, NDMC.
