Army on Wednesday said it had received the report of a probe committee that has reportedly recommended disciplinary action against four General-ranking officers in connection with Darjeeling land scam case and would analyse it.

"The Court of Inquiry has been completed and received by Army HQ today," an army spokesman said in a statement about the case in which Lt General Avadesh Prakash, Lt Gen P K Rath, Lt Gen Ramesh Halgali and Major Gen P C Sen are under a scanner for issuing a No-Objection Certificate for sale of a plot of land near the Sukna Army Station.
"The proceedings of the inquiry will now be analysed as per the existing Standard Operating Procedures in accordance with the military law," the spokesman said without giving details of the recommendations in the report.
The spokesman noted that "the Army is amongst the few organisations which is very sensitive to any irregularities and have proactively sought immediate and timely action against those indulging in any wrongs."
Reports suggest that the Court of Inquiry has recommended "termination of services" of Prakash, Military Secretary at the Army headquarters "for unduly influencing" the transfer of the civilian land adjacent to Sukhna military station to a private institution.
It also reportedly recommended court martial proceedings against Rath, Deputy Chief of Staff designate and Sen, under whose tenure at 33 Corps headquarters in Sukhna the land fraud took place with NoC being issued to a company which falsely claimed to start an affiliate of Ajmer-based Mayo College in the 70-acre land, sources said.
