The incident was reported from Pandav Nagar on Tuesday night and the victim has been identified as Sharmishta Kaushik.
The police have recovered the personal diary of Sharmishta. She was found hanging by her husband Rituraj Thakur, a software engineer by profession, who rushed her to Lal Bahadur Shashtri Hospital where doctors declared her brought dead. The couple got married on March 6 last year.
The deceased, who held an MCom degree, earlier had a job in a private company based in Sainik Farms. She was not working presently.
“Thakur told police that they slept in separate rooms on Tuesday after a fight. This morning Thakur found his wife hanging,” a senior police official said.
A suicide note has been recovered in which she claimed responsibility for her action. “We have also recovered her personal dairy. Prima facie, it appears that domestic dispute led to the suicide,” the official said.
