Woman, paramour arrested for husband’s murder

A woman and her paramour were arrested in north Delhi for killing her ailing husband, police said Thursday. Rajni, resident of Harsh Vihar, murdered her husband Ram Prasad, with help from her boyfriend Udai Veer, 25, a police officer said. HT reports.

“Her husband was not keeping well due to liver ailment for the last four years. During these years she had developed an illicit relationship with her neighbour Udai,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjay Kumar Jain said.

Rajni told police that a plan to kill her husband was made after Udai suggested that no one would suspect the murder because of her husband’s health.

“According to the plan, Rajni picked up a quarrel with her husband April 10. Then Udai came in and caught hold of Ram Prasad, while Rajni hit him on his head with a cricket bat,” Jain said.

Rajni was married to Ram Prasad for the last 16 years and the couple had three sons and a daughter.
