CAT admit cards to be available from October 24

CAT results are likely to be released in the second week of January 2017

Applicants for the Common Admission Test (CAT) can download their admit cards from October 24, 2016. CAT, conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) for a seat in their management programmes, will be held on December 4 in two sessions across 138 cities. Online registrations for the test closed on September 27.

A spokesperson from IIM Bangalore, the institute which is conducting this year’s CAT, said the institute will try to give candidates their first preferred city. In case it is not possible, they will be assigned a city following their given order of preference. In the rare case that a candidate is not allotted any of the preferred cities, he/she will be allotted to an alternate city. However, candidates will not be able to select the session because it will be assigned randomly, said the spokesperson. CAT results are likely to be released in the second week of January 2017. The hall ticket will include the candidate’s name and other necessary details, user id, test venue and test timing. Candidates need to log in here to download their admit card. It is mandatory to bring the admit card to the test centre.
