CBSE 12th result 2017: Girls do better than boys, pass percentage dips in Ajmer region

Girls once again performed better than boys in Ajmer region in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 board examinations, results of which were declared on Sunday.

Girls once again performed better than boys in Ajmer region in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 board examinations, results of which were declared on Sunday.

Girls did way better than boys with a pass percentage of 88.60 as compared to the latter’s 81.10. There were 73,846 boys and 52759 girls who appeared in the exam.

  • Overall 34.20% students passed with 75% and above marks.

However, the overall pass percentage of students in the region - Dadar Nagar Haveli, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan - at 84.20 dipped by 3% as compared to last year’s 87.20. It was 88.8% in 2015. Over 1,26 lakh student took the exam this year.

The board adopted a practice of announcing the results in terms of the performance of students in general, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Class (OBC) categories since last year.

The overall pass percentage of general category students this year was 86.10 followed by SC at 81.20, OBC at 80.70 and ST 78.10 respectively. With a pass percentage of 90.10 among general category, girls again performed better.
