Nehal Sharma, joint second topper of ISC examination from Lucknow, wants to work as a game developer some day.

This La Martiniere Girls’ College (LMGC) student shares all-India second rank in the ISC 2019 (Class 12) examination with 15 other students in the country.

“Learning new concepts is not difficult, but remembering and applying them to solve problems is. Anyone who can do that will score well in the examination,” said Nehal.

She scored 100 in English, physics and computer science and 99 in mathematics. She aspires to get into one of the IITs to study software engineering.

Nehal said as she was preparing for engineering entrance tests along with the board examination, she focused on understanding the concepts well. “I was preparing for JEE along with the Board examination, so I had to divide my time for both. For this, it was important that I got all the concepts right,” she said.

She maintained discipline during studies and stayed away from social media. “When it got too dull, I preferred to watch movies and rest. I also took power naps to rejuvenate my mind and read mystery novels,” Nehal said.

Nehal said she took power naps to rejuvenate her mind as it helped her to stay calm.

Three Lucknow girls have brought laurels to Lucknow by sharing the second rank with 13 others in ISC (Class 12) examination, the result of which was declared on Tuesday. They all missed first rank by just one mark.

Besides Nehal, the other rank-holders include Kashish Gupta of La Martiniere Girls’ College (LMGC), Lucknow, and Vedanshi Tewari of the Mahanagar branch of the City Montessori School (CMS). They all obtained 399 marks out of 400 with an aggregate of 99.75%.
