Ignou students win Sweden- India Nobel Memorial Quiz

The team won an all-expense paid trip to Sweden

Announcements of the Nobel for physiology or medicine ; physics; chemistry; peace and most recently economics have been made in the first few days of October. In keeping with the spirit of the Nobel prize, Indira Gandhi National Open University (Ignou) won the finals of the Sweden-India Nobel Memorial Quiz 2016 conducted at Indraprastha College for Women in New Delhi on October 10. The Ignou team beat the finalists from Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune to emerge winners.

The team comprised Ambuj Singh, Sunny Aryan and Kisalay. The 11 city annual inter-collegiate quiz competition had quizzers from across colleges and technical institutes of all participating cities.

The team won an all-expense paid trip to Sweden where they will visit the headquarters of global Swedish companies, Swedish universities and the Nobel Museum, among other places. “We are excited to have won the final. We have received immense support from our college to reach his position. The contest was a great learning experience,” said the students from Ignou. Quizmaster Kunal Savarkar hosted the qualifying and the final rounds.
