Indian students win UK scholarships

UK-based University of Sheffield awarded scholarships worth over Rs. 1 crore to Indian students recently. The university gives out scholarships worth over £2 million (Rs. 20 crore) every year as part of its international scholarship programme.

UK-based University of Sheffield awarded scholarships worth over Rs. 1 crore to Indian students recently. The university gives out scholarships worth over £2 million (Rs. 20 crore) every year as part of its international scholarship programme.

These scholarships are for international students enrolling for undergraduate and postgraduate courses who show exceptional academic potential.

This year, the university awarded five India Postgraduate Merit Scholarships and five India Undergraduate Merit Scholarships worth £7,000 (Rs. 7 lakh) each.

One of India Undergraduate Merit Scholarships winners, Saylee Jangam from Pune, who is enrolled in the bio-engineering programme, said, “Being able to pursue a multidisciplinary course like bio-engineering at the University of Sheffield is a great opportunity.”

All the 10 self-funding undergraduate and postgraduate Indian students have also received an automatic scholarship of £2000 (Rs. 2 lakh) each in addition to the scholarship amount.
