The Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) has postponed the practical examinations for Classes 10 and 12 as parts of the state remain tense over the Jat reservation stir.
A statement issued by BSEH said students will now sit for the practical exams after their written tests, from March 30 to April 8.
A number of schools – four in Rohtak town alone - were set ablaze or damaged during 10 days of violence that left several dead and scores injured. Life has returned to normal in most parts of the state in recent days.
The written exams for secondary and senior secondary (classes 10th and 12th) will be held from March 8 as per schedule.
The monthly internal exams for various classes in government schools were also disrupted in several districts by the violent agitation by Jats who want reservation in government jobs and education in the state.
