Lucknow University’s BEd entrance results out, but topper opts out

University of Lucknow announces results of joint entrance examination for Bachelor of Education 2018–20.

Abhishek Kumar Awasthi, a resident of Hamirpur district in Uttar Pradesh, topped the joint entrance examination for Bachelor of Education 2018–20 (JEE, BEd), according to results declared by University of Lucknow on Friday.

Awasthi, who scored 341 marks, said he won’t be joining any BEd college because he has been selected in Lower PCS 2015. “Nevertheless I’m happy that I topped the BEd entrance examination,” he said.

Bihar’s Jimmy Saurabh got the second position in the examiantion, scoring 324.670 marks. Saurabh, a resident of Muzaffarpur district, has an MA in English from Kanpur University. Satyendra Kumar Mishra secured third position with a grand total of 324.330 marks.

The proposed date for online, off-campus counselling is first week of June 2018. Details will be posted on the university’s websiteby May 10, said Professor Naveen Khare, state coordinator for JEE BEd 2018–20.

“Candidates will be allotted seat in colleges according to the subject group they have filled in the original application form. No change of subject will be allowed at any stage of the process,” said Khare.

As many as 2,33,913 candidates registered for the entrance examination and 2,10,415 wrote it.
