To begin with, MICA will be applying this decision to its three major residential programmes, the post graduate diploma in management-communications (PGDM-C), the post graduate certificate programme in crafting creative communications (PGCP-CCC) and the fellow programme in management-communications (FPM-C). Its online programmes will soon follow. Admissions will, however, be based on merit.
Expressing MICA’s take on the same, Dr Nagesh Rao, president and director at MICA, said, “MICA extends a warm welcome to transgenders interested in applying for our programmes. We believe their presence on campus will add to the dynamic diversity of our student profile and thus enrich the exposure and knowledge exchange on campus.”
