More than a month after the results were declared online by the University of Mumbai (MU), around 60,000 students, who appeared for the final semester (semester six) exam of third year Bachelor of Commerce (TYBCom) degree, are waiting their mark sheets.
“Many students are struggling to secure admissions for post graduate courses at institutes in other states and abroad. Some have missed their admission deadline. The varsity should issue mark sheets at the earliest to avoid such problems,” said a student from NM College of Commerce, Vile Parle.
On June 26, after a delay of more than 10 days, MU announced the results of the third year BCom (75:25 pattern) final semester exam, which ended on April 27 this year. There was a 5.83 percentage point drop in students clearing the examinations as compared to 2014.
Out of the 63,725 students who gave the exams, 42,912 cleared it, recording a success rate of 67.34 % for the students. Dinesh Bhonde, controller of examinations, MU said, “Printing of TYBCom mark sheets was delayed as few colleges had not submitted their internal marks on time and some submitted incorrect marks, which had to be rectified. There were around 90,000 mark sheets to print. We are in the process of sending the mark sheets to colleges. Students will receive them in a day or two.”
“Moreover, online mark sheets were made available for students two days after the result was declared. We had instructed colleges to accept the printed copy of online mark sheets for further admission processes so that students do not face any problems,” said Bhonde.
TYBCom is the largest degree exam that the university conducts, by number of candidates.
