City schools have been churning out toppers, year after year, credit of which district education officer (secondary) Swaranjit Kaur says goes to dedicated teachers, principals and hardworking students.
Another reason behind this remarkable feat can be attributed to continuous monitoring by district officials and subject mentors, who evaluated the learning levels of the students and made the school principals aware of the performance of their students.
Swaranjit Kaur said, “Majority of the Class-10 teachers took extra classes. The summer camp specially organised by math mentors to make the students achieve 100% marks has made the difference in the passing percentage and overall score of the students.”
In 2018, of 401 students who had made it to the provisional merit list, 94 were from Ludhiana. In 2017, of 379 students on the provisional merit list in the state, 113 were from the district. In 2016, of 335 students, 121 from district featured on this list.
