RBSE 12th result 2018: Science and commerce results declared, girls outsmart boys: Highlights

The Rajasthan Board for Secondary Education (RBSE) declared the result of the Class 12 board science and commerce examinations on Wednesday, May 23.

6.24pm: Girls outshone boys by over 4 percent, Overall result science: 86.6% pass, 85.08% boys and 90.33% girls.

Commerce: 91.09% pass overall, 89.23% boys, 95.42% girls

6.18pm: Rajasthan Board Class 12 science and commerce results declared

5.54pm: Board chairman BL Chaudhary is overseeing the preparation and giving necessary direction to the officials.

4.43pm: Board officials are busy in last minutes preparations before the announcement of the results.

According to RBSE spokesperson Rajendra Gupta, the Rajasthan Board Results 2018 for Class 12 science and commerce stream will be announced first followed by humanities. He said the Rajasthan Board Results 2018 for Class 10 will be declared either in the last week of May or the first week of June.

The Class 12 exams were held at 5,507 centres across the state. More than 826,200 students enrolled for Class 12 exams and out of which 42,665 students registered in commerce stream, 246,254 in science and 5,37,359 in humanities.

The board identified 415 centres as sensitive and made elaborate security arrangements to stop students from cheating at these centres. It also installed close-circuit television or CCTV cameras and recorded the exams on camera.

Last year, 89.05% students out of the 565,930 candidates from the humanities stream cleared the Class 12 exam. Girls did better than boys as 91.35% were declared successful. Among the boys, 87.04% passed.

Girls also outscored boys in science and commerce streams with a pass percentage of 93.4% and 95.5% respectively. The pass percentage for boys was 90.03% and 89.45% respectively.

In the science stream, 229,351 students appeared in the exams and out of which 80.46% girls and 67.7% boys got the first division. Similarly, in commerce 46,877 students appeared in the exams and 71.48% girls and 44.59% got the first division.
