The annual college fests are a big hit with Delhi University students. After a year-long routine of long lectures, tutorials and assignments, fests are something that every student looks forward to. Here is a look at some of the DU fests.
Tempest usually happens in the month of December and goes on for three days. There are no classes during the fest and the fourth day is an off for the entire college. The rock band performances are very famous and you can look out for the choir and singing competition.
Lady Shri Ram College
One of the main attractions during Tarang is its food carnival. From Mexican to Italian to Indian street food, you find everything served here. Other things to look out for are Yavanika and Nukkad, the college’s stage play and street play competitions respectively.
St Stephen’s College
Harmony, unlike any other DU colleges, is an Intra college fest. One of the prime event in the fest are the sit-down lunches.
Reveria goes on for three days. The first day sees the competition among the socities of different colleges. The second day is for the jam sessions. The fest ends on the third day with a rock show.
Shri Ram College of Commerce
Crossroads, the three-day fest, is high on fun. The fashion show is a big draw. Not to forget the rock show where singers such as Kay Kay and Kailash Kher have performed.
Kamla Nehru College
Ullas is famous for its fashion show. Other attractions are the little stalls, put up around the campus, dedicated to tattoo making, hair beadings and junk jewellery.
Sri Venketeshwara College
Its fest is called Nexus. Inter-college competitions are held on the first two days. The grand third day is reserved for rock concerts, which in the past have seen performances by desi rock bands like Euphoria, Indian Ocean, Advaita and others.
