For starters, Aamir Khan has had mixed feelings these days. On the one hand, his wife Kiran Rao’s directorial debut Dhobi Ghat is making its maiden appearance at a film festival. And on the other hand, for the first time in a dozen years, he’ll be skipping Eid celebrations with his mother, sisters, brothers, children, et al.

Sher Lock Holmes tells me that all these years, the star has ensured that he celebrates the occasion with his khandaan. However, this year, Kiran’s Dhobi Ghat is going to be premiered at the the Toronto International Film Festival on October 10.

So the couple is flying out on the night of October 6, four days before the festival. Nonetheless, the Khan clan understands his predicament and how important the movie is for the couple. Sher Lock bhai says that the actor-filmmaker has promised to make up to his family after he returns… and have a grand celebration.

Chalo, badhiya hai.
