From his love for the festival Holi to his punctuality, here are some of the unknown facets of Amitabh Bachchan.

Amitabh Bachchan was to be named Inquilab before his father finally agreed on Amitabh, which means brilliance unlimited.

At home Amitabh Bachchan's folks call him Munna.

Had Amitabh Bachchan not been an actor, as he says, he would be selling milk in his hometown Allahabad.

Amitabh Bachchan holds an art degree from Sherwood College, Nainital.

When Amitabh Bachchan applied for the newsreader job in Radio, he was rejected because they didn't find his voice impressive. Today his burnished baritone voice is a rage.

Bachchan is an ardent fan of Waheeda Rehman. He considers her to be one of the most beautiful women on earth.

Bachchan was first cast opposite Rekha in Haseenon Ka Mela. But Rekha didn't fancy working with this lanky newcomer, as a result he was replaced Sanjay Khan!
