The cast of Laal Singh Chaddha--Aamir Khan, Naga Chaitanya, and Mona Singh paid respects to Indian war heroes at the National War Memorial in Delhi. Chaitanya shared a bunch of pictures from their visit on social media on Tuesday. In the film, both Aamir and Chaitanya play soldiers in the Indian Army. Laal Singh Chaddha is scheduled to release in theatres this Friday. (Also read: Aamir Khan says Bhuvan in Lagaan shouldn't have been clean-shaven)

Sharing the pictures on Instagram, Naga Chaitanya wrote, “morning well spent at the National war memorial New Delhi with the team of #laalsinghchaddha . Such a lovely experience.” Additional pictures were shared by the film's team as well. In the pictures, Aamir is seen with folded hands, bowing in front of a wall marked with the names of Indian Army soldiers who laid down their life in the Kargil War. In other pictures, Mona Singh and Chaitanya are seen paying their respects at the same spot. In another picture, Aamir is seen interacting with some Indian Army personnel.

Laal Singh Chaddha sees Aamir play a simple man from Punjab who joins the Indian Army, where he meets Bala, played by Chaitanya. The two fight together in the Kargil War. The film is the official Hindi remake of the Oscar-winning 1994 film Forrest Gump.

The script of Laal Singh Chaddha is written by Atul Kulkarni. Speaking with HT earlier, Atul had said the film is completely different from the Hollywood original. “you would struggle to find what’s not new. This is a complete desi family film. Those who have seen Forrest Gump would know it is impossible to remake the film. You have to rewrite,” he had said. Directed by Advait Chandan, Laal Singh Chaddha also stars Kareena Kapoor, and will release on August 11.
