Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas hug Karan Johar at NMACC event days after her interview about being bullied in Bollywood

Days after her shocking interview, Karan Johar was seen giving Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas a hug at the NMACC event in Mumbai on Friday.

Just days after Priyanka Chopra gave an explosive interview about being bullied in Bollywood and trying her luck abroad, the actor was seen greeting filmmaker Karan Johar at the inauguration of Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai on Friday. Priyanka had not taken any names but Kangana Ranaut had said in her latest tweets that “everyone knows Karan Johar had banned Priyanka Chopra”.

Priyanka and husband Nick Jonas, along with their daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas came to India on Friday. They made a stunning appearance at the NMACC launch in the evening where they were seen mingling with Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh and Karan Johar. A video shows Karan and Priyanka sharing a hug and having a conversation on meeting each other. Karan also gave Nick a hug and was seen talking to them for quite a few minutes. Priyanka was also seen laughing aloud as they talked while holding hands.

Reacting to the video, a fan wrote, “PC to Nick: “Yeah. This is the man who even dared to think that he could ruin my career”.” Another wrte, “Pri brought the floor down….that gown/dress was epic, thats how it should be, as in you comeback to your hometown with a bang like you never left.” One more fan commented, "Nick and Priyanka gesture are so sweet!! They both were so ready to give KJ a warmth hugs." A comment also read: "No matter what people do or say about her , she will still have that kindness in her heart as always."

Priyanka was among the most glamourous celebrities at the event as she made a stunning appearance in a sheer beige gown with a sheer cape. Nick joined her in a black suit. It is their first trip to India with daughter Malti. Priyanka's mom Dr Madhu Chopra also accompanied them to India.

Earlier this week, Priyanka left many in shock as she revealed her reason to move to the west while speaking to Dax Shepherd on his podcast Armchair Expert. She said, “I was being pushed into a corner in the industry (Bollywood). I had people not casting me, I had beef with people, I am not good at playing that game so I kind of was tired of the politics and I said I needed a break. This music thing gave me an opportunity to go into another part of the world, not crave for the movies I didn't want to get but I would require to schmooze certain clubs and cliques of people. It would require grovelling and I had worked a long time by then that I didn't feel like I wanted to do it.”

Reacting to the news, Priyanka's Fashion co-star Kangana had tweeted, “This is what ⁦@priyankachopra⁩ has to say about Bollywood, people ganged up on her, bullied her and chased her out of film industry a self made woman was made to leave India. Everyone knows Karan Johar had banned her.” She wrote in another tweet, “Media wrote extensively about her fall out with Karan Johar because of her friendship with SRK and movie mafia Cruella who is always looking for vulnerable outsiders saw a perfect punching bag in PC and went all out in harassing her to a point where she had to leave India.”
