Sanjay Dutt wrote an emotional note for his late father Sunil Dutt as he remembered the late actor-politician on his birth anniversary. Sanjay Dutt also shared a picture of his 'jaadu ki jhappi' moment with his father, and said that Sunil will always be his hero. Sanjay took to his social media accounts on Monday and shared two pictures to mark the occasion. He captioned them, "Your belief and love helped make me who I am today. You were, are, and will always be my hero. Happy birthday, Dad," and also added a red heart emoji. The pictures he shared were from their film Munna Bhai MBBS.

Munna Bhai MBBS was the last film of Sunil Dutt, who died of a heart attack in May 2005. The comedy-drama film starred him as Hariprasad Sharma, the father to his real-life son Sanjay, who appeared as the titular character Murliprasad Sharma aka Munna Bhai. In an emotional scene in the film, Murli gives his father a hug, which he refers to as 'jaadu ki jhappi.' Sanjay shared stills of himself hugging Sunil in the scene as he remembered him on his birth anniversary.

Fans also remembered Sunil Dutt in the comments section. Sanjay's wife Maanayata Dutt commented red heart emojis. One called them a 'great family,' while another commented, "Like father like son. Great man Sunil Dutt ji."

Sanjay's latest film to release in theatres was Samrat Prithviraj. The period drama, which also stars Akshay Kumar, Manushi Chillar, Sonu Sood, Manav Vij, and Ashutosh Rana, released on Friday, June 3. The film collected 39 crore in its first weekend. Sanjay was also recently seen as the antagonist Adheera in KGF Chapter 2, which also starred Yash and Raveena Tandon and was a massive box office success.

Sanjay will be next seen in Shamshera, alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vaani Kapoor. He also has Ghudchadi with Raveena Tandon in the pipeline.
