Spears had the audience at recent MTV Video Music Awards in hysterics as she puckered up for a kiss with Lady Gaga, reports Contactmusic.

The Poker Face hitmaker took to the stage as male alter-ego Joe Calderone to present a tribute to Spears and then hand her pop peer the night's Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

And the two femme fatales almost turned the moment into another Spears same-sex smooch stunner as they came within inches of locking lips before the Toxic singer broke away and joked, “No, I've done that already.”

Spears famously kissed Madonna during a show-stopping routine at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards.
