has forced Imran Khan to shoot through the first half of the day. Inspite of that, he will make it to fiancée Avantika Malik’s Karjat farmhouse this weekend for the pre-wedding celebrations. The couple will be back in town to register their marriage on Monday.

ceremony from the groom’s side took place last evening, hosted by Aamir Khan’s mother Zeenat Hussain at her Pali Hill residence. After living in Pune for about 15 years, she moved into the family’s third floor residence at Marina Apartments on December 28, the fifth wedding anniversary of her son Aamir and wife Kiran Rao, who stay two floors above. The family decided to flag off Imran’s

shaadi

at her place as they look up to her.

Aamir’s cousin, Mansoor Khan, has come down from Ooty with his wife and children. So has Aamir’s sisters, Nikhat and Farhat, who live in the US, with their children. “Family members applied the

shagun ki mehndi

and

haldi

sent across from Avantika’s place before sitting down to a lavish dinner,” reveals a friend of the family.

Interestingly, Aamir who is overseeing on the sound-mixing of wife Kiran’s

Dhobi Ghat

, has cancelled his initial plans and will be present at every function, from beginning to end. Sticking close to him are children Junaid and Ira.
