What is your most memorable birthday party?
I haven’t had one in a long time, but when I turned 30, I hosted a big party. Five years ago, when I was pregnant and Om Shanti Om (2007) had just released, I remember hosting a nice do. Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar and Arjun Rampal had come.
What is your most memorable birthday present?
It’s sad, but no one really gifts me anything on my birthdays. Now, I think I have to ask people to get me gifts. Last year, Sajid (brother Sajid Khan) had gifted me a Swarovski watch. With him too, I have to tell him that I like something specific and that he should gift me that (laughs). But this year my kids, I think, will present me with a birthday card since they have learnt to write. My son Czar has promised that he will gift me a gold bangle, so I’m sure he’ll steal one from our maid to give to me (laughs).
Any birthday memory that is special to you?
When Sajid and I were kids, our parents went out of their way to make our birthdays special. Once I wanted an Old MacDonald Farm cake for mine. I still have pictures of that cake. The most beautiful part is that all the friends who celebrated that birthday with me are still my best friends.
How will you celebrate today?
I can’t host big bashes, so there will be a few board games, shouting and screaming along with an open house lunch, where anyone can walk in.
