Heigl does not find adoption 'trendy'

Katherine Heigl, who recently adopted baby daughter Naleigh, says she is "very grateful" to have the 10-month-old baby in her life, and admits her mother's decision to adopt a kid when she was little influenced her choice.

American actress Katherine Heigl, who recently adopted baby daughter Naleigh does not find it a 'trendy' thing.

Country singer Sheryl Crow and Hollywood's 'It' couple Brangelina are one of the many celebrities who have adopted children.

The Killers star says she is "very grateful" to have the 10-month-old baby in her life, and admits her mother's decision to adopt Korean child Meg when she was little helped her inform her choice, Contactmusic reported.

"It's so funny. My mom and I joke about it when people say 'You're just doing it because it's trendy'." My mum says 'Well, I'm trendier than everybody because I was doing it in the 1970s when I adopted your sister', Heigl said.

The 33-year-old beauty, who is married to singer Josh Kelley said she is grateful to have Naleigh in her life.

"I'm very grateful for this little being in my life. I'm very grateful she's my daughter. I'm so grateful we found each other," Heigl said.
