Have you ever envied a celebrity after seeing their face plastered on a mammoth hoarding on a landmark building? Now, you can have that too. A life insurance company has launched an initiative that lets Delhi’s average Joes have their eight seconds of fame by broadcasting their picture on The Statesman House building in Connaught Place.
And, it’s free! All you need to do is upload your picture on the website, youarethebigpicture.com, and you will be notified with the date and time of when the photo will be projected on the building.
“You can also get your picture to be projected on the National Theatre in London, the Clarke Quay in Singapore, the Palace of Culture in Warsaw and La’ Defence in Paris. We also mail you a picture of the projection,” says Gaurav Rajput, associate director-marketing, Aviva India.
For every picture projected, the organisation will donate Rs 60 to charity. So far, they have received 60,000 contributions worldwide. Every day till Sunday, between 6pm to 10pm, Delhiites will feature on the building.
Devdeep Chowdhury, whose picture was projected, says, “It’s larger than life. I’ll put that picture up on Facebook.” “I can’t wait to show it to my friends,” says Nikhil Verma, who has submitted his picture online.
