1.

Maintain room temperature:

High levels of humidity tend to cause mold growth. Moisture may also cause the wooden frames of the paintings to expand and damage the canvas.

2. Be careful about seepage:

Do not hang paintings on walls that are prone to seepage. Not only can water cause the colours to bleed, it can also damage the frame.

3. Stay away from windows:

Avoid hanging your artwork near doors and windows. These are areas most prone to humidity. Kitchens and dining rooms should also be avoided.

4. Control air flow:

Don’t start your air-conditioners on full blast; adjust the cooling slowly in order to avoid sudden change in the room temperature.

5. Be careful about packaging:

If your paintings are not hung but kept in storage, ensure they are wrapped in foam and then bubble wrapped. Store them in a cool, dry and dark place.
