Cheryl Cole has proved she has moved on from her estranged husband Ashley by ditching her married name. The
Girls Aloud
star used her maiden name, Tweedy, at the X Factor auditions, reports the
Daily Star
.
Fellow judge Simon Cowell, 50, joked about this change with the 2,500 crowd as they filmed at London’s ExCel centre. “Who would like to hear from Cheryl... TWEEDY. It is, now, isn’t it?” he said.
The delighted audience gave the 26-year-old singer a standing ovation for cutting off her last tie with serial cheat Ashley. It was the first time that Cheryl, who is now dating US hunk Derek Hough, 25, has publicly reverted to her maiden name. “Ashley is old news and this is yet more prove that Cheryl has moved on. He must be gutted,” a source said.
