The first woman to win Rs 5 crore on game-show Kaun Banega Crorepati 6, Sunmeet Kaur Sawhney says she owes her jackpot to her teenage daughters who urged her to go to the show as they couldn’t, since they’re both under 18.

“My daughters coaxed me to participate in the show. They would research at least two topics on the internet every day, and help me prepare while I was going about my daily chores like cooking and arranging the house. I prepared seriously for two-and-half months, all thanks to them. My background as a tuition teacher also helped me a lot,” says the 37-year-old Mumbai-based homemaker, who did not go to college.

Her best moment on the show? “When my husband did the Bhangra with Amitji (host Amitabh Bachchan),” she says.
