Kesha in rehab for eating disorder

Singer Kesha has locked herself in a rehabilitation centre for treatment of an eating disorder.
The 26-year-old said that she wants to love herself, the way she is, again, reports contactmusic.com.
"I'll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder...to learn to love myself again. Exactly as I am," People magazine quoted Kesha as saying.
"I'm a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself but I've found it hard to practice," she added.The Timber singer is said to be undergoing treatment at Timberline Knolls, a residential treatment center, near Chicago.
What are eating disorders?
According to the American Psychology Association,eating disorders are abnormal eating habits that can threaten your health or even your life. They include:
1.Anorexia nervosa: Individuals believe they’re fat even when they’re dangerously thin and restrict their eating to the point of starvation.
2.Bulimia nervosa: Individuals eat excessive amounts of food, then purge by making themselves vomit or using laxatives.
3.Binge eating: Individuals have out-of-control eating patterns, but don’t purge.
Eating disorders often evolve from a distorted body image where you perceive parts of your body unlike they really are, or dislike or feel uncomfortable with your own body.

Demi Lovato recently came out with her struggle with eating disorders and body image issues. She combated it, and upon being told by paparazzi that she had gained weight, she told them to "deal with it".

After getting slammed for her recent weight gain, Lady Gaga revealed to her fans that she was bulemic and anorexic since she was 15, and having overcome the disorder, her weight gain makes her glad.
4. Mary Kate Olsen
Mary Kate Olsen, of the Olsen twins, reached a dangerously emiciated state before seeking help and recovery in 2004.
5. Kate Winslet
Kate Winslet, who seems ever so confident in her curves, shocked fans everywhere when she spoke of a point where she was obsessed with losing weight and would resort to taking laxatives to do so.
