3 Starchy truth: If you like your table linen starched, send it to your dry cleaner for starching just before you set it out. Storing starched linen will discolour the fabric.

4 Keep it ventilated: Always keep linen in well-ventilated cupboards. For an even better effect use professional moisture absorbers to prevent mildew. These are available at your local dry cleaner's. It also adds to your linen’s lifespan.

5 Paste on: Folded linen should be kept away from direct sunlight to avoid discolouration of the fabrics.
