Spanish painter Salvador Dali's facial hair has topped a new poll of the best-known moustaches of all time.
According to almost a quarter of Britons, the surrealist's meticulously waxed moustache is the most famous, reports the Telegraph.
The poll, which surveyed 14,144 British men for MSN Him, found 1990s wrestling star Hulk Hogan's trademark ''handlebar'' number came second with 18% of the vote.
Albert Einstein landed the third spot with 13%, followed by 19th century philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche and then comic actor Charlie Chaplin.
MSN Him is sponsoring the Movember charity, which encourages the growing of moustaches this month.
